It will be asked to applicants and the Host laboratory answering YES to any of these questions to develop and explain how ethical issues at stake will be handled in the course of his/her project in the appropriate heading of the application form. The applicant shall in this appropriate heading :
- Describe the potential ethical aspects of the proposed research regarding its objectives, the methodology and the potential implications of its results;
- Justify the design of the research project from an ethical viewpoint;
- Explain how the ethical requirements set out in the work programme will be fulfilled;
- Indicate how the proposal meets the national legal and ethical requirements of the country where the research is planned to be performed;
- Indicate the timeframe for applying for opinion and/or for approval by any relevant authority at national level (such as the data protection authority, the clinical trials authority etc.).
Specific procedural modalities for research activities involving human embryonic stem cells 2] Assessment of the project:
- Advance in scientific knowledge in basic research;
- Increase in medical knowledge for the development of diagnostic, preventive or therapeutic methods to be applied to humans;
- is the use of hESC is necessary in order to achieve the scientific objectives set forth in the proposal
Applicants and Host laboratory will be asked to provide UniverSud Paris with all proper authorizations by the local/national ethical committees or competent authority within 3 months after the publishing of the list of selected candidates/proposals. Failure by applicant to provide said authorizations within this delay will be deemed as not accepting the fellowship.
