Independence, no conflict of interest and confidentiality of evaluators
Scientific expert evaluators are required to commit themselves to keep all information gained during the evaluation process confidential and not retaining (and/or copying) any materials that pertain to proposals or the evaluation.
Exchanges between UniverSud Paris staff and scientific expert evaluators are done by electronic means. The scientific expert evaluator will thus be held responsible for maintaining the confidentiality on any document or electronic file sent in particular by erasing and destroying them upon completing the scientific individual peer-review.
Scientific expert evaluators shall not contact any person connected to a proposal that he/she received for evaluation.
Scientific expert evaluators having a link with a proposal are not allowed to participate in its evaluation and are required to declare such links. Should for instance be declared any of the following situation (non exhaustive list):
Should a scientific expert evaluator have a conflict of interest in any of the proposals, he/she shall declare it immediately to UniverSud Paris administration and prevent oneself from evaluating the proposal.
Expert scientific evaluators work as independent persons. He/she is deemed to work in a personal capacity and in performing the scientific individual peer review; he/she for instance does not represent any organization even if his/her remuneration for the scientific individual peer review passes through the organization which employs him/her.
